The football season isn’t over however, and Hurlburt is planning something a little different to keep the game going. For this year’s Super Bowl on Sunday, February 3 Bob’s Burgers and Brew is hosting a brewer’s night.
The restaurant will be hosting a brewmaster from Seattle-based Fremont Brewing, who will be raffling off T-shirts, glasses and hats and discussing four new Fremont beer taps going in at Bob’s.
Fremont Brewing is a family-owned microbrewery known for their small-batch artisan beers brewed with local ingredients. Adrian Duckett, a beer expert at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham, said Fremont has gained a strong following in Seattle and throughout Washington with its balance between sustainability, creativity and quality.
“They’re one of the more sustainable beer companies in the world,” he said. “You’ll find a lot of breweries trying to use organic, local ingredients these days, but Fremont does it better than almost anybody else. Their flagship, year-round beers are incredibly consistent and good, but they’re also willing to push the envelope with bold and creative seasonal or specialty beers.”
The brewer from Fremont will bring four kegs to Bob’s Burgers and Brew for Super Bowl Sunday: Universale Pale Ale, Interurban IPA, Abominable Winter Ale and a mystery keg that hasn’t yet been announced.
“We’ll put on a good atmosphere for the Super Bowl,” Hurlburt said. “Fremont Brewing has some great beers for us.”
Bob’s Burgers and Brew has the usual Super Bowl fare with their extensive appetizer menu – chicken wings, nachos, quesadillas and jalapeno poppers, as well as less common appetizers like prawn skewers, coconut shrimp and sliced kielbasa.
A variety of burgers, from classic to gourmet, are among the many entrees available. Three new 55-inch high-definition TVs stand behind the bar, and the back room, where kids are welcome, has a 50-inch plasma TV and seats 40 people.
Tasty Fremont beer, an all-day happy hour and of course Bob’s signature burgers should add up to a fun way to spend the Super Bowl, Hurlburt said. “It’s going to be a good time.”
