Come the afternoon of September 16, the streets of Birch Bay Village will be open to the public and teeming with area residents walking to raise money for the fight against cancer.

The event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m., and there will be both a three-mile and five-mile loop participants can walk. Registration is $15 for adults and $5 for children 16 and under, and donations will also be accepted. All proceeds will go to the PeaceHealth cancer center in Bellingham.

For information or to register, contact Jordan at 371-2929. Participants should pre-register to avoid backups at the gate.
