A man suspected of exposing himself to eight women in Blaine was arrested by Blaine police on February 6, following an investigation that began in late November.

The 24-year-old man, Daniel Sergeevich Kovalenko, was arrested at his home in the 600 block of D Street and booked into the Whatcom County jail.

The Blaine police department had received five separate reports over the past two months regarding a man exposing himself to adult women in public locations and masturbating in public view. Most of the reported cases stated that the victims saw the man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and masturbating in his white car.

The suspect in each incident appeared to be directing his behavior to the attention of one victim.

In one instance the suspect walked into the customer area of an open business during a period when there was one female employee visible in the room.

The suspect did not speak or attempt to come closer to any of the victims in the reported incidents.

We'll post more information as soon as we hear back from Blaine Police.
