Letters to the Editor
The Editor:
We truly live in an extremely generous town. The Blaine
Food Bank would like to thank all the groups and individuals
that made food and cash donations to our organization.
The names of all involved are too numerous to mention -
please know that we are grateful for all you do.
The food bank will be able to help over 250 of our
neighbors continue to feed their families.

The Editor:
On January 24, the Blaine school district was informed
at the same time the media was informed that high school
principal Dan Newell has been served with a misdemeanor
summons for obstructing an officer and rendering criminal
assistance. I assure you that Blaine school district
makes every effort at all times to cooperate with law
enforcement.
While we do not presume guilt or innocence, at this time
Mr. Newell has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Throughout all of this, the priority of the school board
and district staff continues to be the safety and education
of your children. Providing a quality education in an atmosphere
conducive to learning is our continued focus.
We will keep you informed of any new developments on this
matter. If you have any questions, please contact the district
office.
Mary Lynne Derrington, Ed. D.
Superintendent, Blaine School District
