Letters to the Editor
The
Editor:
I present to you a small poem, perhaps apropos in this time
of concern over Iraq. I call it “Runic Dance.”
Darkly we dance
In measured time
Keeping pace
To a runic rhyme
The dust and ash
Of a long gone fire
Bind us now
In a feral mire
Long dead dreams
Call the tune
‘Neath a dark
Unsmiling moon
Cease we would
This dreadful dance
Were we given
Half the chance
But we are bound
By time and place
To keep this sad,
Lugubrious pace
A slow dance
On the sands of time
Ordered by
That runic rhyme

The Editor:
Why do residents along H Street need to put up their own
signs requesting traffic to slow down while local police
are sent to patrol special gated communities?
H Street is one of the busiest and rarely patrolled with
speeders becoming more flagrant. With warmer weather coming
and children out it’s a disaster waiting to happen.
