Letters to the Editor
The Editor:
Blaine Boosters Girls Volleyball would like to thank our community for the amazing support expressed through donations and encouragement, which enabled our high school girls to attend the Reno Volleyball Invitational in July.
The girls learned new skills and had a great time. A special thanks to Nikki Hallberg and Tanis Russell for their dedicated coaching and high level of fun. Thank you from “the volleyball girls,” and their moms.

Wanted: Volunteer re-enactors for the Peace Arch Dedication “Sam Hill Days” to be held September 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Peace Arch State Park. Donate three hours of your time to help us remember and honor our forefathers who created the International Peace Arch.
Several volunteer opportunities are available (refreshment table, children’s games, historical characters). If you would like to dress in the style of the 1920s, we can assist you.
You can reach me at: 332-7165 or by email info@peacearchpark.org. Thank you.

The Editor:
Mother Baby Center would like to publicly acknowledge and personally thank the anonymous donor who made a $10,000 donation direct deposit into our MBC account at The Bank of the Pacific this week.
We are so thankful and overwhelmed by this generous demonstration of support to our agency and the services we provide to the community. Thank you anonymous donor for believing in Mother Baby Center!
With this significant donation, we have nearly met our goal of raising $60,000. When we receive several “matching funds” donations, which have been submitted to corporations by employees donating monies to Mother Baby Center, we will have exceeded this goal!
We also want to announce that there has been a change in venue and date for our upcoming fundraising auction. It will now be held on Friday, November 7 at 6 p.m. at Fox Hall, Hampton Inn, Bellingham. Please save this date for Mother Baby Center’s 2008 “Creating Memories” auction and enjoy hearty hors d’oeuvres and entertainment along with the fun auction.
We are looking forward to celebrating our successful transition and a bright future of service to new babies and their families in Whatcom County.
For further details, please contact Kathy Case at 360/647-1544 ext.101 or visit www.motherbabycenter.org.
