Senate's elves

Senator Georgia Gardner is inviting Whatcom County teens to be a part of state government this year.

The senator still has positions open for legislative pages in the upcoming session, which convenes January 14 and is scheduled to end March 14.

Pages help legislators and staff transport documents, respond to requests on the Senate floor and present the flag during Senate floor sessions. Students 14 to 16 years old page for one week, following a Sunday orientation. Housing is not provided but there is assistance with finding a host family and pages earn $35 for each day worked.
