Local students climbing the scholastic ladder

Isaac P. Gilman, son of Suzanne and Eric Gilman of West 44th Street in Vancouver, formerly of Blaine, has been named to the Merit List at Kenyon College for the first semester of the 2001-2002 academic year.

To be eligible for merit list recognition, a student must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.45 on the college’s four-point grading scale.

A graduate of Blaine high school, Gilman is a junior majoring in English at Kenyon, a private liberal-arts college in central Ohio.
Rachel Alberstein and Garth Baldwin of Blaine received Bachelor of Arts degrees fromWestern Washington University at the conclusion of the fall quarter, 2001.
