Pet lovers have a local option now

Local traveling vet Jack Schuman has decided it’s time to settle down. At his newly opened Birch Point Cat and Dog clinic in the Blaine International Center, Schuman is kicking off his new office with a drop-in vaccination clinic March 23 from noon to 1:30 p.m. There are special package prices ranging from $30 to $60 for everything from tiny kittens to
big hounds.

Schuman has 30 years experience as a vet. The former owner of Bellingham and Ebright animal hospitals, he has spent the last few years making house calls from his Birch Point home. The new clinic will be open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Schuman says he will continue to make house calls. He said if business merits it he may open on Thursdays but Wednesdays he’ll keep the doors closed. “I like to play golf,” he said.
