Young pizzaleros for charity
One of Blaines major youth employers is helping kids
who work there get into the holiday spirit. With the
great group of kids we have working here we wanted to do
something, said Mike Harward, manager of the Blaine
Little Caesars restaurant. Ive really
left it up to them with the hope the youth who work for
us learn about giving back to their community.
Blaine high school students who work at Little Caesars have
decided to throw a party at the Blender youth center to
raise food and funds for needy families in Blaine and Birch
Bay, Harward said. Admission to the November 22 event will
cost $3, or $1.50 if you bring a can of food for the Blaine
food bank. Admission will include a free slice of pizza,
courtesy of Little Caesars and performances by two
local bands Lifetime Warranty and Serpents Wang.
The dance runs from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Harward said the Blaine restaurant will match every dollar
raised. Were very big on giving back to the
community, he said. Through the Birch Bay chamber
of commerce the funds raised will go to buy holiday gifts
for needy families in that community, and on the Blaine
side funds will go to the Giving Tree program. Food collected
will go to the Blaine food bank. ..
