Watch your car, cause someone else might be too
Since November 11, almost a dozen Blaine residents have
had items stolen from their cars. Most of the vehicle prowls
and thefts have been reported in the Salishan neighborhood,
on Harrison, Adelia and Blaine avenues.
Other thefts have occurred in Semiahmoo and Peace Arch Plaza
development near the border. Officers would like to remind
car owners that there are some habits they can adopt to
help prevent being victimized.
Thieves target small items that are easy to carry and conceal.
Remove the valuables from your car at night: items like
wallets, cell hones, CDs and money are easy to steal and
conceal. Also lock your car doors, and detach your stereo
faceplates. Park your car in a lighted area within sight
of a window if you can. Officers are providing extra patrol
to the residential areas at night, and would appreciate
calls from the public about any suspicious activity they
might observe.
