Creating your Dream Wedding

As a bride and groom, you want your wedding to be perfect. The days up until your wedding will be a whirlwind of activity. By knowing what tasks you should tackle now and which are better reserved for later, youll have plenty of time to plan the wedding of your dreams.

Carefully planning your wedding will allow you to relax and enjoy every moment of your wonderful day. For most weddings, plans begin at least six months in advance. This checklist can get you started on your way to a beautiful wedding day.

In six to twelve months, you should decide the following: wedding budget numbers, ceremony location, type of clergy, attendants, clothing, accessories, invitation list, reception site, reception details, mens formal wear, photographer, videographer, florist, caterer, bridal registry, musicians and ceremony/reception music, honeymoon ideas, and wedding favor ideas.

Within four to six months, you should establish the following: orders for invitations and programs, honeymoon plans complete with travel papers, prices and dates, living arrangements and home furnishings after wedding, floral arrangement orders, and wedding ring orders.

With less than 60 days to the wedding, you should have the following done: addresses for invitations, gifts for attendants, announcements to newspapers, trying and choosing a wedding hair style, marriage license, dress fitting appointments scheduled, reservations confirmed for reception and ceremony sites, and mail all invitations.

Now youre one month away from tying the knot. Have these plans in action: final fitting appointments, schedule and confirm rehearsal dinner, bridal party dinner reservations, purchase attendants gifts, confirm honeymoon reservations, keep records of received wedding gifts, move belongings to new home, confirm hair and nail appointments, arrange name changes for new accounts.

Okay, seven days to go: Finalize meetings with all parties involved in ceremony and reception, give final guest count to reception facility and caterer, host bridal party dinner, begin packing for honeymoon, relax and get plenty of rest. Your wedding day will be one of the most memorable days of your life. As family and friends surround you with love and hope, your life will truly take a new, beautiful turn as you marry the love of your life.

New beginnings will be yours for the remainder of your time together, as you live and learn the little and big things that make you who you are.
