Woman found dead in vehicle

The body of an adult female was found in the gravel pit area near David and Allan Streets in Blaine, Wednesday morning.

According to Blaine police chief Mike Haslip, a border patrol agent was making rounds in the area around 10 a.m. and discovered the vehicle in the gravel area. The body of a deceased adult woman was inside.

We dont have an identification on the woman, nor do we know the cause of death, chief Haslip said, adding officials are investigating all possibilities. And we have not yet determined the time of death.

The vehicle, Haslip said, had Washington state license plates, but could not provide further details about the vehicle.

Border Patrol called the Blaine Police Department, who in turn responded. The Whatcom County Sheriffs Office was called for assistance.

There were no further details available as of press time.
