Truffles by the Sea leaves Birch Bay location
Truffles by the Sea, a new gourmet restaurant scheduled to open the end of July in the Birch Bay area, has gone out with the tide. �I would like to thank our future patrons that stopped at the restaurant on a continual basis, their support and friendship is appreciated and I am diligently working to establish the same quality facility in the community of Blaine,� said owner Marienes Johnson, who is currently working on a downtown Blaine location.
Marienes and Neal Johnson are co-founders of Five Star Gourmet Catering, Inc. For the past year, the company provided catering services at the Bachman Manor in Lynden. Trained in the French tradition, the master chef specializes in exotic hors d�oeuvres, soups and salads, main dishes and desserts served in international hotels and restaurants in Europe, South America and the eastern coast of the U.S.

West Marine grand opening this weekend
West Marine, the country�s largest retailer of recreational and commercial boating supplies, has announced the grand opening of its new Blaine Express store, on Saturday and Sunday, August 9 and 10. The new store is located at 439 Peace Portal Drive, Suite B. Doors will open at 8 a.m. on both days.
