New trainer, therapist at Whatcom Fitness
Kelly Luedke recently joined Whatcom Fitness as a personal trainer and physical therapist assistant. She has four years� experience as a personal trainer and a bachelor of science from the University of Mississippi. Currently, Whatcom Fitness is performing fitness assessments for $15, which tests all components of fitness including flexibility, muscular strength, cardiovascular test and body composition. Smuggler�s Inn has new limo service, room
The Smuggler�s Inn, a Blaine bed and breakfast located on Canada View Road, is now providing limousine service. Bob Boule, owner of the Smuggler�s Inn, said service is available to both the Vancouver and Seattle airports, as well as the Skagit Valley Casino, Semiahmoo Resort and areas of B.C. The service includes older, more comfortable limos including a 1987 cadillac classic. Coming in May, Boule said, is a 1947 Chrysler owned by family members of actress Anjelica Houston. Prices range between $45 to $120 an hour, and a 10 percent discount is available for Blaine residents.
In addition, Smuggler�s Inn has completed its latest room, the Donna Lee, a victorian-style room decorated as a bordello. The room features bordello furniture from Europe, including a bed with two side boards instead of a head and foot board. �For getaways or Valentine�s Day, it�s just a lot of fun,� Boule said. Bank employees make donation to school district
Eight employees of Sterling Savings Bank donated $100 to the Blaine school district at their board meeting on Monday, January 26. The money will be used to assist children and families in need within the district. �It�s their employee fund,� said bank manager Larry Sutton. �And they could have used it for anything, but voted to contribute it to the school.�

Harness joins Bella Marina
A chef who once worked for three years under Wolfgang Puck has joined Bella Marina. Steve Harness, who has lived and worked in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, visited the area and fell in love with it. �It�s green,� he said.
