A Boys and Girls Club summer

The Blaine Boys and Girls Club has a couple of interesting programs for kids this summer. The first is their Books & Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. Monday through Fridays. Children will get a breakfast snack at 8:30 every morning and there will be special programs running in the morning including arts & crafts, reader’s corner and more.

The cost of the Books & Breakfast program is $50 per child plus the one-time annual $20 membership fee. For families with more than one child there is a 20 percent discount for each additional child on the monthly fee. Scholarships are available to those who qualify under club rules. For parents who need only occasional Books & Breakfast service or ‘drop in,’ the fee is seven dollars per day.

Children who are not enrolled in the Books & Breakfast program will not be allowed into the club or on the club grounds until 10 a.m.
Besides offering the normal fun of a science club, computer lab and game tournaments, the club is planning two very cool field trips each week during the summer. Every Tuesday during the summer members will be traveling all over Whatcom County exploring lakes, Totally Chocolate, bowling alleys, and the pool. All this for just three dollars per child. On Fridays day trippers head to Birch Bay Waterslides for a day of splashing fun in the sun! For just $12 a club member can join in on all the fun all day

For just $15 a week kids can join the club for two field trips each week. Field trips require a signed parent permission slip and a current club membership and are taken on a first come first serve basis. To be considered as signed up, the child must be paid in full for the trips. For more information, call 360/332-3008.
