Residents living in and around the Blaine community can
be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke. Life
Line Screening will be at the Blaine senior center on September
24. Appointments will begin at 9 a.m.
Screenings use ultrasound to scan for blocked arteries,
aortic aneurysms (which can lead to a ruptured aorta),
and hardening of the arteries in the legs. Also offered
is a bone density screening to assess the risk for osteoporosis.
Each screening requires ten minutes or less. A complete vascular screening package, including the stroke/carotid artery, abdominal aortic aneurysm and ankle brachial index (hardening of the arteries) screenings is $99. Sign-up for a complete vascular package; include the osteoporosis screening and pay only $125.
