Don’t call the fire department!

North Whatcom Fire and Rescue Services (NWFRS) will be conducting live fire training near Blaine and Birch Bay-Lynden roads on Saturday, November 6.

Firefighting is a demanding and dangerous activity. It is a challenge for all fire departments to provide firefighters with realistic training. Live fire training provides the most realistic environment under controlled conditions while providing a safe and educational experience for firefighters. Career and volunteer staff from NWFRS divisions 3 and 13 will be participating.

The training will take place between 8 a.m. and throughout the day until late afternoon. The location is 8161 Blaine Road (north of Birch Bay-Lynden Road). Traffic should not be affected as Blaine Road will remain open.
