Planner departs for colder climes
Facing an unprecedented onslaught of development proposals, Blaine’s community and economic development department is facing a big hole after the resignation last week of planner Russell Nelson.
“This is getting to be more and more work and he wanted something more part-time,” said department director Terry Galvin. Nelson worked for the city of Blaine for three years and is taking a job north of the border Galvin said.
Galvin said he is already interviewing planners to take Nelson’s place, as well as someone to fill an added administrative position in his department.
