Blaine boy returns to his roots
Blaine’s
new community planner Brent Baldwin has been on the job
just a couple of weeks but already knows Blaine quite
well.
The son of retired Intalco worker Bill Baldwin and former
Blaine elementary school teacher Patsy Baldwin, Brent is
a returning native son, a member of the Blaine high school
class of 1988 and the brother of local attorney Bill Baldwin.
“This
is a step up,” said Baldwin, “but
I also wanted to be in on the changes in Blaine as they
begin to develop. Things are happening, and there’s
lots of potential.” Baldwin worked for the city of
Bellingham for five years following undergraduate work
at Central Washington University and graduate work at Eastern
Washington University.
“I like the smaller scale here,” he said, “not
that Bellingham is so big, but this is better.”
Baldwin is married to Mitzi, “a Lynden girl, I went east to find someone,” Baldwin laughed. They have two children, Aidan, four, and Miles, two.
