Iraq memorial planned
On Memorial Day, May 30, 2005, Veterans for Peace will install a memorial to commemorate service men and women killed in Iraq. Over 1800 markers will be placed in the median and surrounding park at the Peace Arch border crossing in Blaine from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by the Bellingham and Seattle chapters of Veterans for Peace. Each of the dead will be recognized by name, and a book with their stories will be available. This is the 20th installation of this memorial in Western Washington by Veterans for Peace.
Veterans for Peace is a national organization with 200 chapters. Members and supporters will be available all day for information and comments.
