Peace Arch Dedication Reenactment Ceremony
September 10, 2005

U.S. and Canadian citizens caught a glimpse of the late Samuel Hill last Saturday at Peace Arch Park as they gathered to celebrate the anniversary of the dedication of the Peace Arch. Many of the attendants dressed in 1920s garb in an effort to recreate the era in which the arch was originally dedicated. Hill was the former president of the Pacific Highway Association and promoter of international peace.

The event was organized by the United States-Canada Peace Arch Anniversary Association and sponsored by the city of Blaine, U.S. Bank, Paso Del Norte, Cascade Farms, Sterling Bank, Horizon Bank, Drayton Harbor Building, Blaine Bouquet, Border Red Belles, Washington State Parks, Ferndale Heritage Society and the Skagit Snohomish Horseless Carriage Club.
