Nelson’s voter registration questioned
Caryn Johnson, a member of the Revitalize Blaine Now group, has challenged Blaine native and one-time airport manager Don Nelson’s right to vote in Blaine.
Nelson, who was born in a former maternity hospital on Boblett Street, is scheduled to appear before a three-member canvassing board on Thursday, October 27, at the county courthouse.
Johnson alleged that Nelson actually lives on Lake Whatcom Boulevard just outside the Bellingham city limits and not in Blaine, where Nelson maintains an office for his business.. If the board validates the complaint, Nelson will be forced to change his address and voter registration in order to be able to vote in the November election.
