Young at Heart

A great time was had at the senior/community activity center during November. Highlights of November include that simply wonderful delicious Thanksgiving feast provided for the entire community by the American Legion. Yes, we are so very thankful for those good folks and for all good folks as well. Another November treat was the lovely heavenly music and singing by the Heaven Scent group. They were really great.
The center has a lovely tree all decorated
while Toni Knight’s
Christmas harp music and the aroma of hot apple cider and
cookies filled the air.
Good news! There will be a strawberry pancake breakfast
on Saturday, December 10, along with Christmas music and
singing and a pre-Christmas art show presented by the talented
people in the Tuesday afternoon art class. Come join us
for a filling breakfast, great entertainment and art show.
There
will be a 55-Alive class on December 8 and 9. The time
will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You may phone or come in
to sign up.
The Norwegian Ladies Choir plan to be here to sing for
us at the birthday lunch on December 15. You wouldn’t
want to miss hearing those ladies.
The Christmas celebration will be December 22 with a Caribbean Christmas Show at 12:15.
The center will be closed December 23, 24 and Christmas
Day.
Mondays at the center feature pool playing, crafts, and
easy line dancing.
Tuesday mornings bring a nondenominational Bible study which is presently presenting a video series which features the fascinating study of the ancient archeology of the holy land. What a splendid opportunity to study that fascinating time and place. There are a few very loyal bocce ball players outside playing bocce ball if the weather at all permits. Come join them if you want some outside activity. Tuesday afternoons have the painting class, and everybody is welcome to join this fun group.
Wednesday mornings include china painting and the creative writing class. Pinochle is in the afternoon.
The friendly fellows of the fire department check blood pressure Thursday mornings and in the afternoon there is scrap booking and bridge.
Fridays bring belly dancing and a beading class.
Have a delicious, delightful December everyone!
New Year’s Day will find the center open for a special new year’s get-together. Come and bring your leftover goodies and we will all have fun all together welcoming the new year in!
