>Freeman wins state award
A photograph by Sue Freeman of Portrait Art and Design of Blaine was awarded “Female Portrait of the Year” at the annual Professional Education Conference and Print Competition for Washington state.
All four of Freeman’s entries were of local residents and were each awarded ribbons of excellence. Her images were selected from among hundreds of entries submitted from throughout the western states and were displayed in the juried show and public exhibition during the conference held March 10 through 15 at Semiahmoo Resort.
The awarded image titled “Serena” featured high school senior Katie Smith. Freeman’s other entries included high school senior portraits of Kristina Francis titled “Cures and Concrete” and Katie Jordan titled “Blossoming,” as well as a child’s portrait of Brady Castellano titled “Sweet Dreams.”
