Woman injured

A Blaine woman was seriously injured Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle in Surrey, B.C. according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Surrey.

Kristine Lynch, 56, was in serious and improving condition Friday at Vancouver General Hospital, hospital officials said.

Lynch, a truck driver for TC Trans in Blaine, was crossing 72nd Avenue in Surrey at approximately 2 p.m. to return to her vehicle, when she was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

Lynch was not using a crosswalk when she was hit, according to the RCMP.

The crash is still being investigated but authorities believe speed may have been a factor.
