Here’s wishing you a merry month of May. April was such a great month, with a very successful rummage sale and a lunch of hot dogs and chili.
There will be a great pancake breakfast on May 13, that’s a Saturday, of course. There will be future surprises at these breakfasts, such as biscuits and gravy, which were a huge success at our April pancake breakfast. Come, bring your friends and family, and enjoy the good food and conversation. Adult breakfasts are only $3.50 and children $2.50.
On May 10, after lunch, Jerry Warren, manager of the Ferndale Senior Center, will tell about his experiences in the Pentagon on the morning of September 11, 2001.
Look forward to a Mother’s Day Red Hat sing-along on May 15. A new strength training class will be starting May 15. Come in and pick up a doctor’s release form. The price is only $45 for the 10-week course. Also there is something new – Tai Chi classes will be held on Tuesday and Friday mornings at 8:15. These classes will be taken from an excellent tape, which covers the first 20 movements at beginners level.
Calling all Bocce players! Come join in the big Bocce kick-off at Bender Field on May 17. If you are brand new to Bocce, come anyway, it’s easy to learn and make new friends and have fun.
The Senior Stepper tap dancers will be at our center to help us celebrate the May birthday lunch on May 18. There will be a special recognition of those 90 years and older.
There are also stretch exercise classes and an interesting Bible study, a creative writing group, a green thumb gardening group, a walking around the neighborhood group, pinochle, dart games, bridge games, sing-alongs, scrapbooking, pool, bocce ball, or bean bag baseball, and yoga.
