Peace Arch Dedication Day this Saturday
It
was September 6, 1921 when Sam Hill originally dedicated
the Peace Arch monument.
Eighty-five year later, the U.S./Canadian Peace Arch Anniversary
Association (USCPAA), a non-profit group that organizes
the international sculpture exhibition at Peace Arch Park,
is celebrating that moment in history.
Events include a rededication ceremony on Saturday, September
9
from 1 to 4 p.m., with the official ceremony beginning
at 1:30 p.m. said Christina Alexander, president of the
organization.
The event is part of the USCPAA’s annual Peace Arch
Dedication Days, a week-long celebration of the history
of the Peace Arch and will include a visit from Hill and
Queen of Romania look alikes, Vivian Campin and Blaine
mayor Mike Myers, as well as other city officials.
The rededication will also include 1920s period costumes,
children’s activities and an antique car show.
