Young at Heart

The senior center is back to a busy schedule after a
relaxing summer.
A six-week yoga class begins October 6, from 6:30 to 7:30
p.m. Bring a mat and blanket. It is $24 for members, $36
and for non-members and $7 for drop ins. Everyone is welcome.
One huge happening is coming Saturday, October 7. That is the date for the annual tremendous flea market event.
There are always loads of vendors and bargains galore. A delicious lunch will be there waiting for you from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Toni is starting a new cancer support group on October 9. This group is for all those whose lives are affected by this disease.
We will have a Mah Jong party on October 12 at 1 p.m. Maybe you would like to learn more about this ancient Chinese game and learn how to play.
Come on in, you talented
people, you are welcome to participate in our great talent
show which provides after-dinner entertainment for the
simply delicious spaghetti dinner served at 6 p.m. on October
28.
There is a participation sign-up sheet in our office. We
believe that everybody has a talent so come to share it
or just enjoy the evening.
Creative writing lead by Kaydee Powell is on Wednesdays
at 10 a.m. after a summer time of rest and renewal. Everybody
has a story and we would love to hear yours.
Line dancing, led by Armine, starts up again October 2 at 9:30 a.m. for beginners and 10 a.m. for the regulars – that’s one exercise that is lots of fun.
Computer classes have started and if you would like to learn the basics come in and sign up or phone our center for more information. The classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2 p.m.
Our singing group, led by Trudy, has started up again after a summer’s rest.
This group has a lot of fun singing together and hope to entertain in several different places. You are welcome to join the troupe of joyful singers.
We
are fortunate to have a china painting class at the center.
If you like lovely painted china, you might try your
hand at creating your own treasured heirlooms. They meet
on Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon, and have the
guidance of an excellent teacher, Don Richendrfer.
There is a friendly fellowship Bible class meeting at
10:15 on Tuesday and Friday mornings. We would love to
have you share with us.
There is a painting class taught by Maxine Reynolds, on Tuesday afternoons, starting at 1 p.m. New beginners are welcome.
Painting is a wonderful creative experience. Come on in and enjoy our friendly class and our awesome art on our gallery wall. Everyone is welcome. Some of the art can be purchased and make really great gifts.
There are excellent pool tables in the spacious poolroom and open pool except Saturday morning pool tournaments.
There are also computerized dartboards. There are pinochle games, cribbage and Scrabble games going on every day. We will be starting a domino game called Mexican Train Ride. It is reported to be a train load of fun.
So you see, you can be active or inactive, just as you please, with coffee and usually cookies and always plenty of books, magazines, and movies here for your enjoyment.
