Young at heart
Here we are in a brand new year. Last year was very good, and we are looking forward to the new year to be even better with pleasant activities and new friends to meet.
We have many interesting activities scheduled for the
new year. The time for the paying of dues has come,
and for only $25 there is a wide range of activities
for you throughout the year.
Our cancer support group is open to all those with cancer
or whose lives are being affected by cancer. It is good
to know that no-one is alone is this fight against cancer
and there are many options open. We meet at 10 on Monday
mornings.
One of our new programs is Bowling For Fun. This group
meets every first and third Monday at 2 p. m. at Mt.
Baker Lanes in Ferndale. These dates may be changed because
of the holidays. We have fun, no need to feel like a
pro.
There are easy line dancing class at 10 Monday mornings.
The theater group will begin meeting again on Mondays
at 1 p.m. This is a really fun activity and some excellent
skits have been presented by this group.
Tai Chi class meets at 5:30 p. m. Mondays and at 8:30
Wednesday mornings.
There is pool at 9, and there is stretch exercise at
9:30. Crafts and needlework is at 10. Bible study is
at 10:15. We also plan on playing games such as Bean
Bag baseball on Tuesday mornings.
A Bible class meets with JoAn on Tuesdays and Friday
mornings at 10:15.
Bridge and painting class as well as a sing-along groups
meets Tuesday afternoons at one.
Computer classes meet Tuesday and Thursday afternoons
at 1 p.m. Although they are full for January and February,
but you may be able to get on the list for March.
On Wednesday mornings there is pool and also China painting
and a creative writing class with Kaydee. The afternoons
have pinochle and darts, and other games. There is tea
with Turtle and Yoga with Sue at 6:30.
Positive Communication Class meets starting Wednesday,
January 10, 17, 24 and 31. They will be meeting from
1:30 to 2:30 afternoons.
In these four sessions we will explore different styles
of talking to and listening to others. Come and share
your insights and your challenges.
Strength training classes start again on January 9, meeting
on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2 to 4 p. m.
We are thankful for the many great volunteers in our
center. The center really depends on all of your help.
