Jorgensen seeks second term
Jim Jorgensen, district 3 commissioner for the Port of Bellingham, announced Thursday, April 12 that he will seek a second term. Jim is a retired science teacher from the Blaine school district and operates a salmon-fishing charter business.
During his term he has actively supported the redevelopment of the Bellingham and Blaine waterfronts. Jorgenson noted, “Public access and a revitalized waterfront economy must go hand in hand as we look to the future.”
Jorgensen’s other priorities are public transportation
and economic help for Whatcom County’s rural cities.
During his time in office the Bellingham International
Airport has expanded and that has served the public well.
Also, the port has established a matching fund to help
all of our rural cities with their economic development
efforts.
Staying in touch with his community has been a way of business
with Jorgensen. He has attended numerous meetings on a
broad range of topics to stay connected with the issues
and keep himself available.
