Noted talent featured in Faust Project
The Pacific Arts Association has scheduled a viewing of German filmmaker F.W. Murnau’s 1926 silent film Faust, for 7:30 p.m. May 5, at Blaine high school’s Performing Arts Center.
The film is based on the works of the late John Wolfgang Goethe, a German poet and novelist, as well as the late English dramatist Christopher Marlowe. In addition, the film will be accompanied by live jazz performances by Grammy-winning musicians David Schnyder, on saxophone; Dave Taylor, on bass trombone; and Kenny Drew, Jr., on piano, to emphasize the action and ideas portrayed in the film.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and seniors and are available at Village Books in Fairhaven and the following Blaine locations: Northern Meadows Specialty Gifts and Wine, Pacific Building Center, Semiahmoo Resort Gift Shop, Smuggler’s Inn and Steamers Espresso, as well as 30 minutes before the event.
