City sets public hearing for street plan
The
city of Blaine will discuss its six-year road plan during
a series of public hearings scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday,
June 11 at city council chambers as part of the council’s
regularly scheduled meeting.
Slated for improvements are: Boblett Street from Mitchell
to Peace Portal Drive. Bayview Avenue from Clyde to Peace
Portal Drive, Fourth Street from A to D Streets, Ninth
Street from G to H Streets, B Street from Second to Fifth
streets, E Street from Sixth to 12th Street, Cedar Street
between Peace Portal and Mitchell, H Street between Ludwick
and Terrace, Clark Street between Peace Portal and Third
Street, Bell Road between Hughes and Peace Portal, Semiahmoo
Parkway near the North Hill, the boardwalk pedestrian rail
overpass from H Street to Milhollin, H Street from Peace
Portal to Harrison, Boblett Street from SR 543 to west
of Grant Street, and the Marine Drive gateway and rail
crossing.
A section of I-5 near exit 274 will also receive an environmental review and design.
Local agencies are required by a Whatcom County resolution to adopt a transportation improvement plan every six years for incorporation at a state-wide level.
