Discovery Days features parade, arts and crafts

Birch Bay’s 28th annual Discovery Days parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. this Saturday and will be followed by the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce’s annual Arts & Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Discovery Days organizer Jim Wilson said he expects a turn out of approximately 50 parade participants this year, a modest increase from last year’s attendance.

“It should be a lot of fun,” he said.

The parade will begin in front of the Bay Rim Condos on Birch Bay Drive. The arts and crafts festival is scheduled behind the former Stephani’s restaurant at 7878 Birch Bay Drive.

Applications for food vendors will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and vendors should be prepared if there is no water or electricity available.Setup of spaces will be available beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, July 20.
