Giving Tree event this Saturday

The Stafholt Good Samaritan Center has scheduled its annual Community Giving Tree fundraiser from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, November 3 at the Pastime bar at 658 Peace Portal Drive.
The event will include live music by Crystal Tricycle and a raffle. Admission is $10 and all proceeds go to the Giving Tree.

Autumn leaves can clog drains, county warns

Whatcom County Public Works maintenance and operations division officials reminds county residents that maintenance of driveway culverts is the property owner’s responsibility and that simple preventive maintenance of driveway culverts before the heavy fall and winter rain can help property owners avoid potentially serious problems. 

Residents should check culvert openings for any debris, especially leaves, weeds, brush, and tree limbs. For more information, call 360/676-6759.

Turn your ballots by drop box or mail

Voters who have not yet mailed in their ballots for next week's election can submit them at several Whatcom County drop box locations on Tuesday, November 6. Those locations include Blaine City Hall during regular business hours and the Whatcom County auditor's office at 311 Grand Avenue between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Voters who did not receive their mail ballot or who have a damaged ballot may obtain a replacement ballot from the Whatcom County auditor’s office during regular business hours.
