Peace Arch border detour postponed
A traffic shift scheduled at the Peace Arch border crossing will be delayed for up to four weeks, the General Services Administration (GSA) officials said last week.
The detour was scheduled for November 5. Crews relocating utilities are behind schedule, forcing the traffic shift to be delayed.
“We do not expect this delay to jeopardize our overall schedule,” said project manager Mike Nuernberger. “We still expect our January 2008 I-5 detour to take place as scheduled and to finish the project prior to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia.”
