Book explores children’s diet and health issues

Can fats such as Omega 3 and 6 help in weight loss? Can flax seed oil and conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs) help ADD children focus better?
Are certain types of diabetes linked to the consumption of dairy products. Abbotsford, B.C., author and nutritionist Anne Arsenault says yes.
In her 50-page book, “Real Solution to Children’s Health” Arsenault makes a no-bones case about how what parents feed their children can have a life-long impact on their health.
A certified nutritional consultant and parent of two, Arsenault explores the world of nutrition, supplements and alternative therapies including massage and homeopathy, as well as outlining special dietary needs for children who suffer from chronic illness and disease such as asthma, colic and constipation, as well as autism, ADD and other learning disorders.
Given a life-long diet of processed, sugary and refined foods loaded with artificial ingredients and trans fats, Arsenault says it’s little wonder individuals begin to develop diabetes, cancer, obesity and behavioral problems at an early age.
“The health of our children is at a point where we need to take action or there will be dire consequences,” she said.
“Experts are saying this is the first generation that will not outlive their parents. Education for the parents is crucial in order to teach children a healthier lifestyle.”
Arsenault earned her certification in nutritional counseling at Wild Rose College of Natural Healing in Calgary, Alberta and Packard School of Nutrition in Sudbury, Ontario.
