A Blaine woman was killed and two others injured Tuesday following a two-car accident on Badger Road.
Undine S. Sink, 84, of Blaine was pronounced dead at the scene of a two car accident Tuesday on Badger Road at the intersection of Northwood Road. Her husband, David H. Boone, 74, was seriously injured and was transported to St. Joseph Hospital, as was the driver of the other car, 23-year-old Nathan DeBruin.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Debruin, a volunteer firefighter with Whatcom County Fire District 14, was responding to a call and was traveling eastbound on Badger Road about 1:30 p.m. Sink was northbound on Northwood Road and apparently failed to stop at the intersection, colliding with DeBruin’s Dodge Ram. North Whatcom Fire and Rescue Service Lt. Mike Nelson said that the couple had to be cut out of their 2002 Buick Century.
