55 artists signed for winery show
By Jack Kintner
Thanks to last minute sign-ups, the total number of artists who will be present for this weekend’s juried Art at the Winery festival stood at 55 at press time with more being expected.
“We added significantly to our numbers after last week’s story in The Northern Light,” said Dakota Creek Winery owner Ken Peck. Among the newcomers are photographers Malinda Rose and Jeff Lindeman, painters Gavin Olson and Randal Parker, potter Sheryl Attolini, glass jewelry artist Elizabeth Wood, mosaic artist Bob Lewis and metal fabricator Loren Senge, who specializes in crab made out of welded steel.
More than 50 booths and tents will be set up to accommodate the festival artists, and live music will be playing all day.
The winery is located east of I-5. After taking exit 270 turn right and then immediately turn left onto Valleyview Rd. Continue two miles to Haynie Road, turn left and watch for signs on the left (south) side of the road.
Coming south from Canada or from Blaine, proceed eastbound on H Street, turn right (south) on Harvey Road, then left (east) on Sweet Road.
The main road eventually swings south for a short way and then turns east again as Haynie Road. Watch for signs on your right.
