Those wanting a say in the future of Blaine’s skate park will want to attend a planning work session of the Blaine Parks and Cemetery Board next week.
Blaine city planner Alex
Wenger said the work session is a follow up to a January 15 public
meeting where more than 35 Blaine and Birch Bay residents showed up to
voice their support of keeping the park.
Wenger said the session
will help parks board members decide what the next steps will be for
removing and replacing the park’s aging equipment and long-term
maintenance.
“I think during the last meeting the city council saw there was a lot of support with all the kids and the community who spoke really well and passionately about the it,” Wenger said. “Now that we’ve determined we want to keep it, this meeting is to determine what we can do with it with our limited resources.”
The work session is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, February 19 at Blaine City Hall. For more information, call 332-8311.
