Peter and Gordon, a British Invasion-era duo who rocketed to fame with such hits as “A World Without Love” and “Lady Godiva,” will be appearing at the Silver Reef Casino Saturday, February 28.

The duo were the first British Invasion musicians other than the Beatles to go number one.

The duo became part of a Who’s Who set of English musicians. Peter’s sister Jane Asher was Paul McCartney’s girlfriend in the ’60s and the duo played with members of Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones.

Marianne Faithful went on to pop stardom after she was introduced by the set to the manager of the Rolling Stones. Peter Asher was also part of a trio that opened the famed Indica Bookstore and Gallery where John Lennon met Yoko Ono.

Other songs the pair are remembered for include: “I Go To Pieces,” “To Know You Is To Love You,” “Woman” and many more.

The two split up in 1968 and did not play together again until a benefit concert for a member of The Dave Clark Five in 2005. The two have played together ever since.

Tickets are $29.50; the show begins at 8 p.m. For more information, call 866/383-0777 or visit
