Sophia Sennett, a sophomore at Blaine high school, spent a week in Olympia working as a page for the Washington State Senate. She was sponsored by Sen. Brandland (R-Bellingham).
The
senate page program is an opportunity for Washington students to spend
a week working in the legislature. Pages are responsible for such tasks
as presenting the flag, running errands and delivering mail.
She
was one of 22 students who participated in the program during the ninth
week of the 2009 legislative session.
When
she gets a break from school Sennett participates in a number of
organizations including Whatcom County Teen Court, Students With a
Purpose and the National Honor Society. She also plays on the tennis
team and is a member of Blaine high school’s wind ensemble.
Sennett is the daughter of Jackie and Michael Sennett of Blaine.
