Dakota Creek Winery in Blaine is seeking artists to be showcased at their second annual Art At The Winery juried outdoor arts festival this summer.


Last year, more than 2,500 people attended the one-day event and organizer Ken Peck said he expects an even larger crowd this year, as local caterers will provide food.


April Fleming, a student at Blaine middle school, has been accepted to the People to People world leadership forum scheduled for April 13 through 19 in Washington, D.C.


Forum delegates will also participate in small group discussions and exercises to experience first-hand how successful leaders develop strategies, make decisions, build concensus and foster change.


Oyster lovers can buy fresh local oysters on the dock in Blaine next weekend but orders should be placed ahead of time.


Geoff Menzies will be selling petite, small and medium-to-large oysters from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 17 and from 8 to 10 a.m., Saturday, April 18.
