A Mount Vernon business owner who won accolades in Skagit County, including Best Nail Salon, has opened a new store in Birch Bay.

Charlie Nguyen opened a new 2,100-square foot Nail Masters salon at Birch Bay Square last month, offering manicures, pedicures and waxing services.

The salon features 10 pedicure thrones, 10 manicure stations, honey waxing and seven nail technicians.

Nguyen, who owns and operates several other salons in the Mount Vernon, Mill Creek, and Lynnwood areas said he was looking for another location when Birch Bay Square developer Levi Ware approached him.

He currently lives in Mount Vernon with his family but admits he was very impressed with the scenic beauty of the area and the friendliness off the community and is planning on moving here. He first learned of the area because he and his family would take frequently camping trips to Birch Bay State Park.

“It’s a good place for a nail salon,” he said. “I like the community, the building and the beautiful location.”

Nguyen said he hopes that offering competitive pricing will help bring in enough customers to keep business running smoothly.

“Even when the economy is tough, you can still pamper yourself a little,” he said.

A grand opening is scheduled for May 23 and will include a raffle for a $1,000 gift certificate.

Nail Masters is located at 8115 Birch Bay-Lynden Road at Birch Bay Square, suite 117 and can be reached by calling 866/441-9386. Their website is located at www.nailmastersinc.com
