  At long last, the wonderful, beautiful, month of June, with sunshiny rays and blue sky days.  Enjoy the flowers, the pleasant weather and the equially pleasant company and many inside and outside actiities available at the Blaine Senior Center.
 
The center will have a new beginner Tai Chi class starting Monday, June 1 at 10:30.  This is a 8-week class which can be joined until June 25.  Don't miss that date, but if you do, another class will be starting in August.  The advanced Tai Chi class will continue on Mondays at 9:20.
 
Celebrate Father's Day at the center, enjoy a Hawaiian celebration Tuesday, June 16 at 11:30.  Brandi Edwards and Debbie Schauel will be provide hula dancing.  Come and wear your best Hawaiin garb and be eligable for great prizes.  A Teriyaki chicken dinner will be waiting for you along with a tropical fruit bowl, pineapple upside-down cake and more.
 
June 18 is our birthday lunch date and also Merry Berry Day.  There will be baked chicken, fresh strawberry shortcale, and a program on growing berries in Whatcom County.
 
Come Saturday, June  20 from 8 to 11 AM and enjoy a scrupulous breakfast, with pancakes or waffle, or  biscuit and  gravy along with sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and orange juice.
 
Join us for a great nautical adventure and celebrate Nautical Day, Friday, June 26, at 1130.  Why not take a ride on the Plover at 10 and return to the center and feast on Florentine Fish for lunch and hear the story of the Plover from Captain Richard Sturgill and enjoy the sea tunes played by Sheila Clemens on her fiddle.
 
Save the date!  July 4th that is, for a great pancake breakfast, and craft and food booths in downtown Blaine.  Also, some beautiful quilts will be raffled.
 
Strength training class will be starting July 7, on Tuesday.  Sign up now.  There is a one-time fee of only $60, due on the first day of class.  A completed Physician's release form and current membership is required. Completion of a 10-week strength training class is required prior to any use of the impressive array of Cybex strength training equipment, rowing machine or treadmill.
 
The summer schedule includes pool, stretch exercise t 9:30 followed by Bocce ball and Take a Walk, Tuesdays and Thursday mornings at 10:30.  There are bridge games in the afternoons.  The Tuesday morning Bible class is now meeting on Friday mornings.  The Tuesday afternoon painting class has had a very productive season and is continuing throughout most of the summer.  Everyone is an artist, come along, this class will prove it.
 
Wednesday morning is for China painting, some great pieces are being produced.  The afternoons include Pioche.  Blood pressures are measured by the friendly firemen on Thursday mornings.  Friday afternoons include crafts and tea and ladies' pool.
