Local author and chiropractor Ken Ely, whose young adult novel “The Sons of the Waves” came out late last year, has put out another book.

“Finding Peter Vincent” is an autobiographical coming of age book about Ely’s summers spent on Orcas Island. Peter Vincent was an island resident and friend Ely met through his time spent with Father Glion Benson, Episcopal vicar of a parish that served all the San Juan Islands.

Ely began as an altar boy and eventually became a part of Benson’s family. “It is hoped that in this pilgrimage back to that time, that place and that one defining friend, you may be brought to recall the warmth of your own summer’s sun,” Ely says in his liner notes.

The book is for sale for $14.64 including tax and is available at Ely’s office, 365 H street, and at Goff’s department store, 674 Peace Portal Drive, and at Darvill’s in Eastsound on Orcas Island.
