On Saturday night, August 22, 24 out of possible 36 members of the Blaine high school class of 1959 met for dinner, socialization and renewing of past glories. Their reception was held at the “Cannery Lodge” on Semiahmoo Spit from 5 p.m. till the “golden oldies” felt the need for sleep. Honored was David Simonson, business teacher; Mel Hollinger, agriculture teacher; Irma Quist, cafeteria cook; and Murray Goff and his wife were recognized for their lifetime of service to the Blaine community and school. Murray was on the Blaine school board when this class graduated. Also recognized were the seven class members who have passed away.
