Organizers for the 8th annual Wings Over Water NW Birding Festival are seeking arts, crafts and birding supply vendors for their upcoming event.
The event is April 17 in downtown Blaine, Blaine harbor and Semiahmoo. Festivities include a presentation by Washington Brant Foundation president and long-time bird conservationist Maynard Axelson, wildlife and geology tours, Plover wildlife cruises on Drayton Harbor, walking tours of Semiahmoo shorelines, children’s activities, maritime museum tours and other speakers.
Axelson’s presentation is titled “No Place Like Home” and focuses on Semiahmoo’s status as a world class birding destination.
“Drayton Harbor is such a unique area, and I’m afraid we’re just taking it for granted since it’s in our own back yard,” Axelson said. “The combination of diverse waterfowl, beautiful location and home to one of the largest eel grass beds on the west coast makes this an incredible place to experience some of the best birding in the world.”
The deadline for vendor applications is April 9.
