Census officials answer questions

Those who have questions regarding their 2010 Census forms can meet with a Census representative in Blaine next month.

Census officials will be present at the Blaine public library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays, April 2, 9 and 16; from noon to 5 p.m. Mondays, April 5, 12 and 19; and from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, April 7 and 14. The Blaine library is located at 610 Third Street.

Volunteers needed for math event

Organizers for the Washington state middle school math championships are looking for volunteers for their annual event Saturday, April 17.

The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Blaine performing arts center and is open to 5th through 8th grade students from throughout the state. No math skills are necessary. For more information, call Anne Abrams at 366-9365.

Local grad earns scholarship

Blaine high school graduate Bryan Galbraith was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the J.E. Dunn Construction Company.

Galbraith graduated from Blaine in 2005 and is currently studying construction management at Washington State University. He is expected to graduate in May 2010. He is the son of Kristi and Steve Galbraith of Blaine.
