Haynie Opry kicks off season June 12 in Custer

OpryThe annual Haynie Opry festival of country, gospel and bluegrass music, is scheduled this Saturday, June 12 at the Haynie Grange in Custer.

This year’s event will feature an Elvis impersonator in celebration of what would have been Presley’s 75th birthday as well as Whatcom County country and bluegrass musicians Allan and Carol Linde as well as Nashville country and gospel artist Jack Greene. Backup music will be provided by Matt Audette & The Circle of Friends Band.
Two shows are available. A $5 afternoon show is scheduled for 3 p.m. and will include Southern gospel music and a $10 evening show at 7 p.m. features traditional country and bluegrass music.

Allan Linde, a life-long resident of Whatcom County and a graduate of Ferndale high school, started playing violin at the age of five and later incorporated the guitar, bass and mandolin. He often sings with his wife, Carol.
